I'm going to start my contribution by posting some funny jokes and translations made using city names from RS, Brazil.

Porto Alegra = Happy Port

Arroio do Meio = Stream in the middle

Cachoeirinha = Little Waterfall

Carazinho = Little Dude

Gravataí = Tie There

Itaqui = It's Here!

Iraí = To go There!

Laranjal = Orange Farm

Mato Leitão = Kill Piglet

Passo Fundo = Deep Step

Pelotas = Balls

Sapucaia = Frog Fall

Santana do Livramento = Saint Anna of the Release

Tapera = Ok, Wait!

Três Coroas = Three old Ladies

Viamão = Saw the Hand

Well... Those are the funniest imho*, but you can find others in the internet.

PS: I'm not from RS, i just like to joke with then (that is probably mutual the other way around).
